Roman aqueducts were built in all parts of the Roman Empire , from Germany to Africa, and especially in the city of Rome itself, where they totaled over 260 miles (416 km). The aqueducts were important for supplying water to large cities across the empire, and they set a high standard of engineering that was not surpassed for more than a thousand years.

Built as part of the Enlarged Erie Canal in 1841, the aqueduct spanned Ganargua Creek, just north of its confluence with the Clyde River and just west of current Lock No. 27 and the junction of the Canandaigua Outlet with the Clyde River.

Most old aqueducts had these curved walls facing the creek, and holding back the berm. The curved walls were very difficult to build, as each stone needed to be cut at an angle, but the end result was considerably stronger than a flat wall would have been.

Aqueduct is the oneman band project of David Terry, originally from Tulsa, OK. After a move to Seattle and releasing Power Ballads, Aqueduct created a buzz and began to open for acts like the Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse.
There is a further segment north from Scarborough and to the Croton Dam (picture left, looking south from atop the dam, with the OCA ending to the left of the Croton River) ( here’s a map ), but I am not including it until I have more information about it. I will note that from the map I have, it appears to be a pretty straight-forward shot to the north with the exception of Ossining, where it looks like you have to run for a few blocks on the street.
