Historical Inaccuracies of the Movie Tombstone A historical review by John Richard Stephens Tombstone (1993), starring Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer, is a favorite movie for many people—especially those interested in the history of Tombstone and the Old West. The storyline is masterfully written, the characters are well defined, it's beautifully filmed, the soundtrack is wonderful, and the dialogue is brilliant, with more memorable lines than any other movie I can think of.

Review by Thomas Glorieux: Probably not being an enormous expert on western scores, Tombstone can still satisfy me in general. Bruce Broughton's sometimes gritty score with the expected dissonance still has two extremely good themes and mix them and vary theme and they work just fine in entertaining you.

That scene on the movie is one of my fav's and I watch it all the time, yet when ya listen to the music alone you can really hear the Indy-ness!

Tombstone A film review by Christopher Null - Copyright © 2002 Filmcritic.com If Kurt Russell's handlebar mustache doesn't give you the willies, you need a bigger TV. The definitive populist telling of the Wyatt Earp story, Tombstone has more fun with the story than traditionalist versions like Kevin Costner 's Wyatt Earp , with a younger, more crowd-pleasing cast -- Thomas Haden Church plays a bad guy; Jason Priestley is a deputy.

Average Rating: Rating: - A soundtrack that is more than OK. This is one of the very best soundtracks based upon one of the best Westerns made.
I've never had the hots for orchestras in VGM, especially real ones, because they aren't used very creatively and have done nothing but over hype the genre in the last five years. Of course, there are a few notable exceptions, like the ridiculous amount of symphonic arrangements by Sound Team JDK and the Dragon Quest Symphonic Suites, but for the most part, orchestras have been hurting the genre more than they have been helping it.
