Smart 2 CCTV 16 Channel Digital Video Recorder. This is my review of the SystemQ Smart 2 Digital Video Recorder.
Product summary The good: Records, pauses, and rewinds standard and high-def TV (HDTV); easy-to-use TiVo interface; HDMI output; includes dual satellite and dual over-the-air tuners so that you can watch one program while recording another; partial aspect-ratio control. The bad: Can't receive DirecTV's MPEG4 broadcasts, including most local HD channels; sluggish program guide; no home networking features; no easy way to archive recorded shows to DVD.
Quote from: Aziraphale on December 09, 2007, 12:51:52 PM The amount of work, effort and thoroughness is greatly appreciated and quite amazing. Some perspective though - 228 A4 pages for an ODD review is insanity, even if most of them are graphs.

I have found that recording sporting events with good video quality is impossible in anything but XP mode, which usually means 2 discs for an average football game (3 discs for some OT games if the OT is long)...

Those of you who have Sky+ will know that, aside from the stunning array of channels on offer, its competition-crushing feature is ingeniously intuitive ‘Sky Guide’ interface. Final Thoughts As a demanding videophile with an extremely high resolution display (Loewe 38" HDTV-cable widescreen monitor) and a penchant for recording a lot of TV, I have to say I've been quite happy owning this unit for the past 8 months. Picture quality in XP and SP modes are better than S-VHS without the annoying tape glitches that can happen with tapes.
