Re: subfloor Also keep in mind your hardwood floor, as you describe it is your subfloor (structural componant). You are apparently looking to install an underlayment layer before installing a new finished floor.
A: Concrete Floor Moisture - Concrete floors directly in contact with the ground are never completely dry. Also, the moisture content of new concrete is high, regardless of grade levels.
